Majestic Purple and Ametrine Inspired

Majestic purple and Ametrine really made this invitation suite feel royal. Taryn Dibble was such a pleasure to work with and really loved how this set turned out. The ornate flourishes in shades of purple gave this set some character.

Always love using the folders to house invitations in. Envelopments carries such an array of paper goodness! Taryn was not going to leave her guests in question. We provided them with every little detail needed regarding the event. Directions card, details card outlining the hotel accommodations and cocktail hour, and of course a reply postcard.

Machined calligraphy is always a perfect solution to addressing your invitations!

Vintage Repousse Gold and Ivory Inspired ... Continued.

I have finally gotten around to photographing the other bits that coordinated with my invitation suite today! (Click here to view the invitation suite in a previous post)

I wanted to carry the vintage repousse design and burgess font throughout multiple pieces which you will see below. The seating chart, postcard thank you, program, invites, and table numbers. I fall back in love with this set every time I see it.

Italian Grape Wines

Miss Colleen had a vision of an Italian themed wedding and wanted everything to coordinate. She is hosting the wedding in her parents backyard which is surrounded by vineyards. GORGEOUS!

This invitations suite is housed in a tall and skinny black folder. I love the concept of a folder because it houses so many specials little pieces about the big day. Everything from the formal invite, a reply, directions, accommodations, and a note from Pam and Brent (her parents).

Pink and Brown Calligraphy Inspired

This fun and fresh little set was designed for a dear friend of mine. I did a similar style for another bride (see post here) and she loved the simplicity of it and wanted to do something very similar. LOVE the pink and brown combo.

The font was her main focus. I can never get enough of this font as it has so much character just on its own.

So excited to share her special day with her August 7th!

Wedding Invitation Trends of 2010

The Knot is keeper of all wedding goodness and never fails me when I need fresh ideas. I wanted to pass on a few trends I stumbled across. When it comes to invitations, I am always wanting to know the new trends that brides are after. The Knot has a great little series "Wedding Stationary: New Wedding Stationary Trends for 2010" and is definitely worth a gander! Below are a few of my fave picks.

Custom Illustrations:
Have your stationer, friend, or even co-worker draw up architectural elements, locations, buildings, monuments, dates and details that are important to you and your wedding day. These sketches make stationary so much more personalized and is a great way to display the information regarding your event in a unique fashion.

Pattern:
Ohhh do I love a good pattern. Whether it be vintage, modern, or geometric ... I love each and every one of them! Patterns and their elements are great to carry through all your wedding stationary to create a uniformed look. However, switching up the patterns slightly creates visual interest. I adore this look!

Event Timeline:
A fun little way to express an agenda through pictures and text! I could see using this for for a destination wedding or wedding rehearsal and dinner. This will engage your guests visually but also fill them with every little detail they might need to know for the big day!

The Bloodsworth/Beynon Wedding - Couture Style

It's official ... I'm married! We had such a fabulous time at the wedding and couldn't have asked for a better day. It started pouring at 8 AM and was meant to carry on the remainder of the day but for some reason ... someone knew that I was desperate to get some outside shots at the gorgeous Tassel Ridge Vineyard. Not a drop of rain the rest of the day made me a happy lady!

Throughout this post you will see several images from wedding. I loved every minute of planning all the details and am happy to say that the 10 page checklist/itinerary my mum and I had to do/follow 2 weeks prior to the wedding really paid off. I think I may have wedding planning withdraw soon!

The panels shown below is one of my all time favorites! These massive structures really turned the Pella Opera House into a reception site of my own. Many people from my hometown have their reception here so I was determined to do things a bit differently. The time my mum and I put into these was a bit extravagant but it was well worth the tedious hours! We stretched muslin fabric accros wood panels and hand painted 'Love' 'B' and 'Cariad' across them. In case you are curious ... Cariad means love in welsh! It was only appropriate since my fiance is from Wales. I used the same script throughout my entire wedding ... the panels, invitations, programs, seating chart etc.

The hanging manzanita branches with swarovski crystals above the kings table really made a statement as well. Love love love the idea of a kings table! It allows you to interact with your entire wedding party and not just the person to the left and right of you.

CAKE! I was so thrilled with how this turned out as well. I had a vision for my wedding (as you can see in a previous post from Couture Invitations). I wanted vintage yet elegant. This cake was just that. The two tone squares with perfectly crafted flowers along the bottom edges made me fall in love with this cake over and over. Kim Beintema-Clark with Kim's Cake did such a fabulous job and definitely recommend her if you live in Central Iowa.

Lace was a vintage yet classy element my mum carried throughout much of the decor. We use Heritage Lace on the cake table, dinner tables, guest book and more. Heritage Lace offers such an array of designs and styles to choose from it made it difficult to pick just a few! This was a great way to give the Pella Opera House the vintage look I was after.

Shelly Sarver was my florist and she does some lush work! She was gracious enough to let us use these cast iron candelabras that were placed at the front of the church and later brought to the reception. Something about lots of candle light that makes for a romantic ambiance

One more thing I MUST mention. The dresses were made by Dornink here in the East Village. I saw a dress that I absolutely fell in love with ... just not the price tag. We had several consultations and the end result was absolutely stunning! Just how I envisioned them.

Ohh how I love to coordinate! Check out the Gold and Ivory Vintage Repousse Beynon Invitation Suite from Couture Invitations as well.

Photo credits to my lovely lady Miss Bekah Garrison. So happy she was home from Hawaii and able to attend and capture some candid shots!

Pistachio and Clover Inpsired

Miss Gibbons has been planning an outdoor wedding at the lovely little Jester Park Lodge for June 26th. She wanted a set that was different than the typical folder with pockets ... so we created a monogrammed sash that wrapped all the details together! This is my first pistachio and clover combo and I really love how they turned out. Perfect for an outdoor wedding!

One of my favorite parts of this entire set was the map located on the back of the details card. Something about all the intricate lines that make it all the more appealing.

We kept the wedding programs sweet and simple and carried through the same floral elements from the invitation.

Summer Yellow and Gray

Miss Amber and Scott Ewell are good friends of mine and they gave me the opportunity to design their wedding invitations. Their invitation set was unique in that we designed two invites and two detail cards. They only had a select amount of guests attending the ceremony but still wanted the remaining guests to get a formal invitation as well ... only this was 'to the reception only'

These are super cute and fun. Love love LOVE the color combo of gray and yellow ... one of my new favorites!
